Cars/Vehicles
Top of the Woods is a vehicle-free site, meaning no vehicles are allowed in any of our camping or glamping meadows, with the exception of the Friends Power & Park Up pitches, which accommodates one light vehicle or a campervan per pitch.
-
Car Parking: Park only in the designated car parking area.
-
Luggage Transport: Wheelbarrows are provided for transporting your luggage to your camping or glamping pitch.
-
Mobility Assistance: If you have mobility issues and require assistance with your luggage, please contact us ahead of your stay to arrange for a camp host to help you upon arrival.
Caravans/Motorhomes
Unfortunately, we can NOT accommodate motorhomes or caravans. The grass pitch and access to the campsite are not suitable for large vehicles, and we do not have provisions for chemical waste disposal.
Dogs
Well-behaved dogs are welcome in all our glamping and camping accommodations, with a maximum of two dogs per booking.
-
Control and Leads: Dogs must be kept under control and on leads at all times, including at your camping or glamping pitch.
-
Termination of Booking: We reserve the right to terminate bookings for guests whose dogs are the subject of complaints or persistently cause disturbances. No refunds or compensation will be provided, and you may be asked to leave the site.
-
Clean Up: Dog owners must clean up after their pets. Red bins for bagged dog waste are located throughout the site. Biodegradable dog waste bags are available for purchase at reception.
-
Dangerous Dogs: Dogs banned under the UK Dangerous Dogs Act, including certain crossbreeds, are prohibited. If you’re unsure about your dog, please contact us for clarification.
-
Supervision: Dogs must not be left unattended at glamping accommodations or camping pitches.
-
In Season: We do not recommend bringing dogs in heat, as this can lead to disturbances with other dogs on site.
Music
-
Amplified music, including radios and speakers, is not permitted at your pitch, as many guests seek the tranquillity of nature. You are welcome to play acoustic instruments, like guitars, quietly around the campfire.
-
For clarification on what’s allowed, please ask at reception.
-
If you have booked exclusive use of the entire site, live or amplified music can be arranged with the appropriate licenses.

Top of the Woods is a peaceful, nature-led site. We kindly ask that noise levels are kept to a minimum between 10 PM and 8 AM.

Recycling and Leave No Trace
-
Recycling Facilities: Recycling facilities are available across the site, including at your glamping accommodation.
-
Waste Separation: Please recycle everything possible. Guidelines are provided for waste separation at each bin station.
-
Leave No Trace: Ensure your pitch is clean when you pack up and leave and leave the area as you found it.
Campfires, Wood, and Wood Burners
-
Campfires: Campfires are welcome in suitable off-the-ground fire pits. You may use your own firepit if it is approximately 100 cm off the ground to protect the grass. We provide fire stones for under low fire pits if needed.
-
Fire Ban: Temporary bans on campfires may be implemented during dry periods to prevent fire hazards. We will communicate any bans to ensure guest safety.
-
Barbecues: Disposable barbecues are not permitted as we are a sustainable site. Firepits and BBQs are available for hire, including BBQ tools.
-
Wood Usage: Only seasoned dry wood can be burned on site. Sustainable kiln-dried wood is available for purchase. Please do not gather firewood from the site, as fallen wood provides habitat and damp wood burns poorly, causing smoke.
-
Wood Burners: For safety and insurance, the wood-burning stoves provided with all glamping options can only use wood supplied by Top of the Woods.
-
Inclusion: All glamping accommodations come with a firepit and BBQ, including a bag of sustainable kiln-dried wood and a fire starter kit. A communal campfire is also available in the courtyard.
-
Supervision: Please do not leave children or dogs unsupervised around campfires or wood burners.
