A decade ago, Jon and I started our life’s journey to create Top of the Woods. Our vision was simple yet profound: to nurture a sustainable, enriching haven in the heart of beautiful Pembrokeshire, not only for our wonderful camping & glamping guests to enjoy on their holiday, but to enrich the 27-acre environment for the wildlife that calls this place home.
Becoming the best-loved campsite in Wales! was our life's dream, and as we celebrate our 10th year, we're humbled by the progress we've made toward turning this dream into reality.
The true delight, however, lies in the fact that, in 2023, we've had the privilege of being recognised with a few national and global awards. This achievement is a testament to the dedication of our incredible guests who have embraced our vision and made Top of the Woods glamping campsite, in Pembrokeshire Wales, an extraordinary place.

Best campsite in the UK - Time Out
Earlier this year, Top of the Woods appeared in the number 1 slot as “Best campsite in the UK” from the distinguished Time Out Magazine. Wow, what a recommendation from this iconic & respected magazine.
The review says that our campsite is the perfect place to get back to nature and points to our wide choice of accommodation - from camping in our wildflower meadow to eco glamping. We love the way they describe our glamping accommodation:
“Will you choose a boutique safari lodge or a brand-new nature dome (which looks a bit like a giant golf ball with windows)? Or a ‘pioneer camp’ with a large, tent-meets-marquee lodge and a separate kitchen under canvas?"

Jon and I see ourselves as guardians of our beautiful nature let 27-acre camping and glamping site for the next generation. Over the last decade, we’ve aimed to protect nature and wildlife on our doorstep and help it thrive, with new richer habitats - for example planting 3,500 native trees and creating a new woodland with the help of our guests.

As a small independent business (i.e. an SME ourselves), it’s brilliant to be recognised by this business publication. It inspires us to continue our vision to create and provide exceptional experiences in nature.
Speaking of which, we're excited to introduce our new initiative at Top of the Woods – Green Office Retreats. We are now offering tailored team retreats in the heart of our nature haven at Top of the Woods for companies and their people. We understand the importance of taking care of employees' well-being, and recognise the unique challenges faced by companies and startups as their people transition to remote and hybrid working in a digital world.
